Connect Codex to Tensorbasis
Configure a remote Streamable HTTP server in the configuration shared by local Codex clients.
No Tensorbasis CLI, local server or installation required for HTTP clients.
Setup
- Open your Codex MCP settings or your private ~/.codex/config.toml. A trusted project can use project-scoped configuration instead.
- Add the tensorbasis server with the hosted URL using the configuration below. This does not launch a local process.
- When Tensorbasis OAuth is available, use the client's sign-in flow. The optional Codex command is: codex mcp login tensorbasis. If it fails, do not treat the server as connected.
- For a key fallback, add bearer_token_env_var = "TENSORBASIS_API_KEY" to this server's table and set that variable securely in the environment of the Codex host. Keep keys out of project files and chat.
- Check that the server exposes tools, then request only an account summary as the first verification.

[mcp_servers.tensorbasis]
url = "https://app.tensorbasis.com/api/mcp"Compatibility and transport
This is the local Codex host configuration path documented by OpenAI, not a claim that a ChatGPT browser plugin is installed. Browser-hosted tools have separate setup and availability. Tensorbasis has not certified an end-to-end session in every Codex surface.
Configuration guidance is based on the official documentation linked below, reviewed 31 October 2026. Tensorbasis has not completed an end-to-end verification in this client. Client versions, account eligibility and organization policies can change the available setup.
If it does not connect
- Check that the URL ends in /api/mcp and the transport is HTTP, not stdio or a legacy SSE-only URL.
- Check sign-in or the bearer key, its scopes and expiry. Never send a key to support in a screenshot.
- If OAuth is not available in your deployed server/client pair, use the documented key fallback where headers are supported. Do not invent a callback URL or assume a browser connector can accept a local command.
- A visible tool list is only discovery. Verify a read-only result from your account before requesting any action.
